Our new home has a wonderful front porch. It goes all the way across....just like our last home's front porch. The trouble is, I sold all of the wicker furniture that we had on our last front porch at a garage sale before we moved, because we were thinking about buying a condo...I know....like we really would :-).
Front Porch of New Home
So now I am dreaming about what I can do to replace the wicker I sold. Do I get more wicker and paint it black?
Go with a natural wicker?
I am not sure which direction I will go, but I do know that I will probably wait until next spring to worry about it. Right now I am concentrating on getting into the house and getting settled before Christmas :-).
Thanks for hanging around and house whispering with me! I promise to bring you along every step of the way.

You have plenty of time before Spring to let the house tell you what it wants. What fun Penny.
Hugs, Penny
I thought I knew when you started the front porch journey and changed my mind as you went along. Guess that means that I'm a lucky one and could go with the first pick. ☺ Why am I seeing a swing hung on one of those ends, though?
Love all of your pictures Penny. New furniture for our back patio is on my list. Our new house has a fireplace and it's just waiting for the perfect cozy furniture. I want black wicker. We'll see what we find, right?
I agree with Penny, that the house will let you know what's needed on the porch. I love all the inspiration photos though, especially the natural wicker.
It's nice you have time to settle before you need porch furniture. It looks like a wonderful porch that will be fun to decorate. A wonderful way to draw one into a house!
What a terrific outdoor space. I like wicker, probably the black but either way - wicker. It is so much fun to read your planning process for this house.

I just love heaing about your plans and seeing your house transform! So much fun! Please stop by today if you can...I'm having a giveaway!
Oh, what fun! I'm sure you'll have lots of ideas to sort through come spring.
Murphy's Law! I love the natural wicker, especially with the soft paint color of your house.
Hi Penny,
I love the black Iron. Go with something different this time. I know you will have fun next spring planning your porch.
I can't wait to see more!
Have a sweet day, Elizabeth
Oh for a porch with which to have the problem of choosing furniture!
I think I'd go with the natural wicker though...

You'll have fun thinking about it Penny. Personally I'm fond of the natural wicker because it's so comfortable and easy to take care of, but the iron looks very chic. I really like the rug in the last photo too.

I wish I had a front porch like yours on my new home, Penny! I do have a small porch off the master bedroom that I will probably place a few wicker pieces.
I love the Houzz website you used for inspiration! I will need lots of inspiration to decorate my CO home, that's for sure. :)
Waiting for spring to decide on porch furniture seems like a good idea to me. As you've said, the house will let you know what suits best.
Thanks for bringing us all along on your house whispering. I love it.
Hi Penny! Your new home is so pretty and I love your porch. One thing, you can just wait a bit til spring and then go to town! :)
Be a sweetie,
Shelia :)
Looking forward to every step with you Penny! Love the look of the front of the house - so charming!!

Kim
A porch like that is on my "dream house"list. I would sit ourside with a hot cup of whatever and watch the rain in spring:>) Wicker is comfy but, oh my that cast iron looks fine. Whatever you find I know it will look wonderful and be perfect for your porch sitting:>)
I'm with Vee, porch swings! I have some catchin' up to do on your new home! LOVE it, Penny! It is just so pretty!

You might actually get the furniture at quite a savings at this time of year and through the winter...cushions, too. I ordered my wicker furniture for the lake from Orvis in September of that year and just stored it. The prices were great.
I like the natural wicker the best for outdoors. Mine is in our little guest house (it's white).
Good luck!
Such fun! Lots to look forward to...both for you and us! I love the natural wicker...but spring IS a long way off! ;)
I'm kind of liking it all. Fun to see what you do. Mimi
Waiting would be wise - give you time to get the "feel". But, there are some really great buys going on right now.
I have white wicker on our front porch. And, in our sunroom we have black. Love them both.
I am so glad you chose the house with the porch, it is so beautiful. I think all the pictures are wonderful, and any of them would be perfect for your porch.
